The premium amount which you need to pay for your insurance is determined according to Compulsory Earthquake Insurance Tariff and Instructions.
In order to calculate your premium amount, firstly, the sum insured which determines the highest limit you can receive after an earthquake must be found.
Your premium amount is calculated when your sum insured is multiplied by the tariff rate.
There are 15 tariff rates which are determined according to 5 risk ones and 3 different building styles:
|Rates Based on Zoones as per the Building Type(‰)||1st Zone||2nd Zone||3rd Zone||4th Zone||5th Zone|
While determining the earthquake zones, "Turkey's Earthquake Regions Map" that is prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning is taken as basis. The definitions of the building styles that are stated in the tariff given above are as follows:
A- Steel, concrete: These are the buildings which have steel or ferro-concrete load bearing framework.
B- Masonry Buildings:These are the buildings which do not have any framework and whose load bearing walls are built with rubble stone, stone, bricks or concrete briquette with/without holes, whose floor, stairs and ceilings are concrete.
C- Other Buildings: These are the buildings which are not included above.
Insurance premiums are increased every year in parallel with the increase in the cost of unit square meter.
